EDUCATION

2007 – Graduated at The Basketball Academy in Belgrade (grade 10/10).  The Academy is under the patronage of the Basketball Federation of Serbia and under the expertise of The Association of Basketball Coaches of Serbia. Lecturers on this Academy are the most prominent coaches of Serbia (Dusan Ivkovic, Zeljko Obradovic, Bozidar Maljkovic, Dusko Vujosevic etc).

Form 2000 – Participant in interntational seminars organized by The Association of Basketball Coaches of Serbia. Lecturers are prominent international coaches: Larry Brown, Gregg Popovich, Don Nelson, Del Haris, Mike D’Antoni, Roy Williams, Etore Messina, Ruben Magnano, Jasmin Repesa, Dusko Ivanovic, Svetislav Pesic etc.

Dragan Torbica
13. September 1968 in Zrenjanin geboren

Als 19 jähriger gab Torbica bei seinem Heimatverein Proleter Zenjanin sein Debüt als Spieler in der damaligen 2. jugoslawischen Liga. Nach einer Station in Sarajevo wechselte er 1998/1999 zu KK Vojvodina Novi Sad in die 3. serbische Liga. Sein letztes Jahr als Spieler verbrachte Torbica wieder bei Proleter Zenjanin, die er als Spielertrainer in die 2. Liga führte. 2005 folgte er einem Lockruf von KK Novi Sad. In seinem ersten Jahr führte er das Team in die 1. serbische Liga und verpasste in der Folgesaison die Meisterrunde nur knapp. Torbica wurde von der Liga jedoch zum ?Trainer des Jahres 2006? gekürt.
2008 wurde er zum "Trainer des Jahres" in der Reginalliga West in Deutschland.

Zur Saison 2009/2010 wird er bei den GiroLive-Ballers in der Pro A als Headcoach tätig werden.
